known as:

Japanese hair straightening is a very innovative technique
originated from Japan to make frizzy, curly, or wavy hair pin-straight while
preserving the health of your hair.
Soon after the very first Japanese hair straightening system became very
popular in Japan and then Hollywood, many other hair beauty companies saw the
potential and produced similar products of their own. Today, there are many
competing Japanese hair straightening systems such as LISCIO,
YUKO System™, CHI Transformation System™, Bio Ionic™, and
Thermal Str8™.
In my opinion, none of those "similar" Japanese hair straightening
systems are comparable to LISCIO hair straightening system.
(see the comparisons of different hair straightening
systems) Almost always, LISCIO Thermal Reconditioning will
improve your hair's feel, softness and shine while making it completely manageable!
How long will the Japanese Thermal Reconditioning last?
Whatever gets treated will remain straight from 9 months to 1 year. Most
people claim it will last forever, however, new growth need to be retreated.
When do I get the new growth retreated?
The new growth usually needs to be treated about 6 months to 1 year after
the initial treatment. The faster your hair grows, the sooner your new growth
need to be retreated.
What kind of hair is suitable for Japanese hair straightening?
Almost every hair type works great for Japanese hair straightening:
- Caucasian hair
- African American hair
- Asian hair
- Bi-racial hair
- Latin hair
- Middle Eastern hair
- Norwegian hair
- all other hair types that haven't been mentioned here
But regardless of your hair type, be sure to get your hair properly
tested by your stylist before the treatment.
What will my hair look like after the treatment?
Your hair will be pin-straight and will feel incredibly soft and silky with
more shine. Furthermore, you will be able to easily style your hair in many
ways that you can't do with curly or wavy hair.
Will I still need to blow-dry my hair after the treatment?
You will not need to blow-dry your hair at all unless you just want to get
the moisture out quickly. This usually takes about 4 to 5 minutes instead of
45 minutes for curly or wavy hair.
How much does Japanese hair straightening or similar hair straightening
system cost?
All Japanese hair straightening systems typically start at $300 and up to
$500 depending hair length, thickness, amount of chemical processing present,
and of course, the stylist's experience in Japanese hair straightening. Some
bigger salons may charge you up to $1000. The additional cost of going to a
more expensive salon has no direct relation with the result of such treatment,
but however, experience has. Buyer beware!
Why does it cost so much?
Japanese hair straightening is an extremely difficult treatment to perform,
and the process usually takes from 4 to 6 hours straight to perform. Sometimes,
it may even take longer. If your stylist claims otherwise, you are most likely
dealing with inferior product or service. The result could be a disaster.
Is previously relaxed, colored, or highlighted hair OK to be treated with
Japanese hair straightening?
That depends on what kind of chemicals were being used and the extensive
of relaxing, coloring, or highlighting treatments were being done. Stylists
with more experience in Japanese hair straightening can easily determine by
giving you pretreatment consultation before anything will be done.
Will I get any breakage or other bad results from the treatment?
It's very possible when your stylist does not know what she/he is doing,
you could get breakage from the treatment or other bad results you don't want.
It almost never happens with a trained and competent stylist with experience
in Japanese hair straightening. Our suggestion is to find out how many treatments
your stylist has performed and how long she/he has been doing it. In most cases,
you should ask for testimonials. You certainly don't want to be part of a "learning
experience."
Why are the other kinds of hair relaxing procedure can be so damaging?
Most relaxing techniques require many corrosive chemicals. These chemicals
corrode your hair to a point where it is possible to create a straight look.
These products do little and damage your hair. As you already know, they always
leave your hair feeling like straw and the curl comes back after a very short
period of time.
